In the charming city of La Línea de La Concepción there are several tourist attractions.

Edificio Istmo is one of the most popular museums in the city. It houses 2,000 negative photographs of La Línea de la Concepción, party posters, archaeological pieces and everyday objects.

Museo Cruz Herrera is an art gallery installed in the old City Hall building. Two of its floors are dedicated to the master painter of La Línea de la Concepción José Cruz Herrera (1890-1972).

The ruins of Fuerte de Santa Bárbara, built between 1731 and 1735 during the reign of Felipe V, formed part of the line of defense of Plaza de Gibraltar.

Torre Nueva, is a tower that was constructed during the reign of Felipe III and together with its 43 sister towers, distributed along the coast, they served to alert of the attacks of the Berber pirates.

Iglesia de la Inmaculada, dating from 1879, which has a beautiful main altar of Baroque-Spanish style of the seventeenth century, and the monument to Camarón de la Isla are also a must see.

What to do in La Línea de la Concepción

The city has a fabulous climate and its beaches are of high quality, with fine sand and numerous services. It has urban beaches such as Santa Bárbara, Poniente or Levante, and wilder beaches such as La Alcaidesa or La Hacienda.

In its wonderful coasts you can practice any type of nautical sport, such as sailing, windsurfing, water skiing or sport fishing.

You can also taste its delicious gastronomy, with a wide variety of restaurants and bars that offer visitors the best of seafood, vegetables from their garden and the meats of their mountains.

In addition, the city is located very close to Parque Natural de los Alcornocales, ideal for go hiking.

The city has several bars, both for drinking in the afternoon and at night. Most of them are located in the downtown area (Plaza Cruz de Herrera, Avda. De España …).
